Pregnancy Counseling Course

This two-day workshop is designed to assist participants in developing the basic knowledge and skills needed to discuss pregnancy options in a family planning setting.

Who Should Attend?

This course is designed for any family planning personnel who will be responsible for assisting clients as a pregnancy counselor.

What You Will Learn

At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss the role of a pregnancy counselor;
  • Assess personal opinions and beliefs concerning pregnancy options and decisions;
  • Describe to clients key elements of pre-natal care, adoption and abortion;
  • Identify Federal and State guidelines for conducting a pregnancy counseling session; and
  • Conduct an effective, unbiased and non-coercive pregnancy counseling session.

Continuing Education

Nursing:

Provider approved by California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider #CEP 12241, for 13.2 contact hours.

Health Education:

The California Family Health Council is designated as a provider of Category I continuing education contact hours in health education by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. Health educators attending this program may report up to 11 contact hours.

Social Worker:

The California Family Health Council, Inc., provider number 3165, is an approved provider of continuing education for MFT and LCSW licensure requirements in California. This course meets the qualifications for 11 hours of continuing education credit for MFCCs and LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.

There is an additional $15 administration fee per certificate, payable on site.
