Tips on Providing Client-Centered Contraceptive Counseling

Client-centered counseling is a way of providing education and counseling that best serves the client. By following a few simple guidelines, an educator can determine the client’s true needs, shape a session to their specific requirements, and
deliver quality health.

Program Topics & Objectives

By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

  • List 3 benefits to being client-centered when providing contraceptive counseling.
  • Explain one challenge to being client-centered, and one way to address that challenge.
  • Identify 3 ways to stay client-centered during a contraceptive counseling session.

Continuing Education

There is an additional $15.00 administration fee, per certificate, payable on site. Please note that classes offered as webinars have different contact hours approved.

Nursing

Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider #CEP 12241, for 3 contact hours (in person class) or 1.8 contact hours (webinar).

Health Education

The California Family Health Council is designated as a provider of Category I continuing education contact hours in health education by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. Health educators attending this program may report up to 2.75 contact hours (in person class) or 1.5 contact hours (webinar).
